Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 August 2026 · Last reviewed: 9 August 2026

Alpha IT Consultancy Services Ltd ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information when you:

  • visit this website (alpaitconsultancyssrvicesltd.netlify.app), or
  • use any mobile or web application we publish (each, an "App"), including apps listed under our Google Play developer account.

This is a general policy intended to cover all of our current and future apps and this website. Where a specific app collects data beyond what's described here, that will also be disclosed in that app's Google Play Data Safety section and, where applicable, an in-app notice. If you don't agree with this policy, please don't use the website or the App(s). If you have questions, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

1. Who we are

Alpha IT Consultancy Services Ltd is a sole-operator IT consultancy based at 4 Aspen Way, Whinmoor, Leeds, LS14 2FE, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, both for this website and for the apps we publish.

2. Information we collect

What we collect depends on whether you're using our website or one of our apps, and on that app's specific features.

On this website

  • Contact form details — name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message you send us.
  • Usage data — pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, and referring pages, typically collected automatically by our hosting provider and any analytics tool we enable.

In our apps

Depending on the app and the features you use, we may collect:

  • Account information — name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash), or details from a third-party sign-in provider if offered.
  • App content — information you create or enter within the app (for example, saved entries, preferences, or uploaded content).
  • Device & diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers, push-notification tokens, and crash or performance logs.
  • Usage analytics — how you interact with app features, to help us understand what's useful and fix what isn't.
  • Feature-specific data — where a particular app's core function requires it (for example, location, camera/photos, or contacts), we request the relevant device permission at the time it's needed, and that app's Play Store listing and in-app prompts explain why.

We only collect what a given app reasonably needs to provide its features — we don't build data collection into an app that its functionality doesn't call for.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the website and our apps;
  • respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form or by email;
  • send service-related notifications (for example, account or security notices, or updates relevant to features you use);
  • maintain security, integrity and proper functioning of our services, including diagnosing crashes and preventing abuse;
  • understand how our website and apps are used, so we can improve them;
  • comply with legal obligations.

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are: consent (for optional features and marketing communications, where applicable), contract (to provide the core functionality you've signed up for), and legitimate interests (for security, diagnostics, and improving our services).

4. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, provide analytics, crash reporting, authentication, or push-notification services, under contracts that restrict their use of the data to providing that service to us;
  • Legal or regulatory authorities, where we are required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Alpha IT Consultancy Services Ltd, our users, or the public;
  • A successor organisation, if our business is sold or reorganised, subject to the same protections described in this policy.

Where an app has a feature that shares information with other users of that app (for example, content you choose to share), this is limited to what you explicitly choose to share, and is described in that app's own help content.

5. Data retention

Data typeTypical retention
Contact form submissionsUp to 24 months, or until your enquiry is resolved and no longer needs follow-up
App account & profile dataFor as long as the account is active, plus up to 30 days after deletion to allow recovery
App content you createFor as long as your account is active, unless you delete it sooner
Diagnostic/crash & analytics logsUp to 12 months

We may retain limited information for longer where required by law or to resolve disputes.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, hashed storage of passwords, and access controls limiting who can view account data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users and, where required, regulators, in the event of a data breach affecting personal data.

7. Your rights & choices

If you are in the UK or EEA, UK GDPR / GDPR gives you the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
  • lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Within any app, you can also control device permissions (such as location, camera, or notifications) directly from your device's system settings at any time.

8. Deleting your data or account

Where an app includes account creation, you can delete your account and associated data in either of these ways:

  • In-app: where available, use Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm.
  • By email: send a deletion request to info@alphaitconsultancy.co.uk from the email address linked to your account, naming the app and the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will action verified requests within 30 days.

Some information (such as records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes) may be retained for a limited period after deletion, as described in Section 5, after which it is permanently removed.

9. Cookies & similar technologies

This website uses a small number of cookies to make the contact form work and, where enabled, to understand aggregate traffic (for example, via privacy-respecting analytics). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect the contact form's functionality. Our apps may use comparable device-level identifiers for analytics and crash reporting, which you can typically limit through your device's privacy settings.

10. Children's privacy

Our website and apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If a specific app is designed for family or guardian-supervised use, that app's own listing and in-app notices will describe how children's data (if any) is handled and how a parent or guardian can manage it. If we become aware that we hold personal data from a child collected without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, contact us using the details in Section 15.

11. App permissions

Apps we publish only request the device permissions needed for their advertised features. Typical examples include:

PermissionTypical purpose
LocationOnly requested by apps whose core feature depends on location, and only while needed for that feature
Camera / PhotosOnly requested by apps with a photo- or scan-related feature, or for an optional profile photo
NotificationsTo alert you to account activity, reminders, or updates relevant to the app
StorageTo save or open files you choose to work with within the app

The exact permissions requested by a given app are listed on its Google Play Store page and requested at the point of use within the app.

12. International data transfers

Our hosting and service providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses, to ensure your data remains protected.

13. Third-party services

Our website and apps may use well-established third-party providers for hosting, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, or notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments and data processing terms, and we only share what's necessary for them to provide their service to us. We don't control third-party providers' own privacy practices beyond that relationship, and recommend reviewing their policies if you'd like more detail.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, provide additional notice such as an in-app message or email.
